‘Proposal Scene’ Painting

How precious is this scene??
Engaged couple, Natalie and Sascha, are avid travelers so getting engaged abroad in Ribeauville, France is so fitting! After all, France is the most romantic country in the world.

The painting I created will be a centerpiece at the bride and groom’s Wedding Shower. It will surely be a conversation starter and a great way to introduce the proposal story! I was happy to be commissioned to capture this beautiful “Proposal Scene” through art for many reasons.

My patron wanted to make this piece extra personal by adding Natalie’s favorite animal, the elephant. How cute is that?!

Beautiful Architecture

As an architectural designer, I have great appreciation for the individually colored buildings that make up the enchanting city of Ribeauville, France. This environment is so intriguing that it was the inspiration behind the town of The Beauty and The Beast! Ribeauville is one of the oldest medieval towns, with architecture from the 15th to 18th century. The town boasts a high quality environment with plenty of great bed and breakfast options that are surrounded by vibrant florals. If I wasn’t inspired enough to create a floral collection next, I sure am now!

Rich History

If you’re a history buff like myself, you’ll love strolling the streets (or browsing through pics) of Ribeauville. Did you notice that a lot of the infrastructure looks a bit German? That’s because Alsace, located in the eastern region of France, was under German control for centuries, hence the Fachwerk, or timber framing, building styles and streetscapes

Reminiscent Love

Getting back to the purpose of this art piece…
Painting a young couple in love, at the start of their lives together, made me smile just about the entire time I was painting! The “Proposal Scene” captures the moment they were engaged – one of the most precious moments of life! Seeing others celebrate the beginning of their union reminds me of my engagement experience. Marriage is a truly incredible blessing and I can’t wait for this lovely couple to enjoy all it has to offer!
