RawanFilling Space with Florals
I don’t know if it was because of our move during the Spring season, living in this thoughtfully manicured neighborhood, or a combination of the two, but I’ve felt attracted to flowers like never before.
Husband and I are waiting to revamp our landscaping until next year, which has me craving rose bushes, lilies, peonies, and other blooming beauties more than ever! Wanting to be surrounded by them in some sense, I felt inspired to paint my own arrangements so that they remain in full bloom and brighten up the space, no matter the season.
Watercolor Florals
Watercolor florals are huge in the wedding industry and with my recent floral cravings, I felt thrilled to create this watercolor bar menu and other display signage for a Colorado couple’s Big Day. Great timing, right?!
I love the chance to make wedding signage and artwork that is unique and personalized like this! 
This menu is specific to Colorado’s finest alcohol beverages and incorporates the bride and groom’s wedding floral arrangements. I got to browse through their choices and felt energized by the bouquet and boutonniere arrangements. Trust me when I say they were absolutely lovely!
More fun with watercolor!
If you’ve been following my art journey, you know I love watercolor and texture! This small watercolor painting is expressive of colorful wildflowers, flowing in a meadow with the sunlight beaming over them. I think my favorite part of this are the messy layers that make the natural features look fluffy and vibrant!
Digital Florals
Two words : Flower Crowns!
Two more words : Digital Paintings!
Now let’s combine them! I’ve been having so much fun with this new medium and style of painting. Here’s the best part, I can show my patron a digital concept and rework it as necessary. Doing this digitally is a loooottt more efficient than with a physical painting haha. Digital Paintings also allow me to make more art that is accessible to a wider range of patrons.
Some of my floral pieces are unique hybrids!
They start out as digital sketches and then are painted by hand. Here are a couple of the images you saw earlier as black and white digital sketches.
Acrylic Florals
Typically, I paint flowers and other nature-inspired elements with watercolor. But, I wanted to explore more acrylic painting techniques. The first time I tried this out was with my best friend, Kortney who was visiting from Denver. She is a major fan of landscapes so it was the perfect time to give acrylic florals a go! We spent a beautiful morning painting on the balcony and listening to the birds sing. I brought out my paint tubes and she supplied the 2″ x 2″ canvases and together, we created these adorable pieces!
