It is one agony to deal with the slow process of healing. It is a whole different form of torture when you’re dealing with the logistics of recovery that involve people who may not understand what it actually takes to heal. When you feel like you have to convince them that you’re trying your hardest, that you’re trying to stay positive for your body and your mind’s sake yet sometimes its hard to convince yourself to keep pushing. When they can’t understand why it’s just not working. When time is really the only healer.
There are days that I wish I could do this entire thing alone…so that the pressure of being “fixed” is not there. But in all honesty, I can’t do it alone. No one can do it alone. As agonizing as it is to go to doctors visits, do tests on end, and speak with lawyers and insurances and figure out all the paperwork for the 10 different adjusters involved in your case, etc., these factors are, eventually, what helps make sense of the process…at least I hope. Nonetheless, it sucks (for lack of a better word).
And this is what agony looks like to me.
