There is so much you can discover within the apron of an artist. The obvious ones are shown right away; color choices and layers of hues. Looking deeper, it’s as if you can almost find what is happening with and to the artist as they make. How quickly or slowly are they reusing their tools? Are they getting messy with their fingers to paint? Are these marks that of a deliberate “cleaning” or are are they placed through ricochet?
Even time is told through this. The amount of layers and intensity of color tells a story of longevity. Is the brightest “residue” the most recent?
To most, this is just a disposable tool used to keep you from making a mess of yourself.
Well, I say: MAKE A MESS❕ And find beauty in that mess.
I don’t just see an apron.
I see my art journey. 👩🏻🎨
